Gone too soon

I just returned from the most wonderful retreat I've ever experienced (maybe because I have the most responsibilities I've ever needed a moment away from).
BYU Women's Conference was amazing!! Every speaker was very up-lifting and easy to listen to (unless, of coarse I was starving or dead tired). Ultimately, I left the conference feeling refreshed and having a new motivation to be a better mom, better wife and better friend. Listening to President Monson was absolutely the highlight of the conference. Just being in the same room with him and being filled by the Spirit and love we felt was overwhelming. I loved being a part of something so large and so productive. You give a crowd of ladies a bag of yarn and you can't imagine how many little baby booties or scarves can be made! Busy hands!
When we weren't in class, Sheena and I were eating delicious food, shopping, tasting samples, browsing thrift stores, eating a little more, and driving around (and around). I got to see some hidden treasure shops on Sheena's tour. It was shopping heaven.
Here is the little gem I've had my eye on for some time: Anthropologie will never let you down. Practical, yet not-so-practical (I have to cut the butter so it'll fit) it makes me smile every time I look at it.
For more details and even some pictures (why take my camera when I'm with the photo queen?) see here!

That's such a cute dish!

I'm glad you had a good time. I think every great mom deserves a little break once in a while, so I'm glad you got yours!

I know I would be so incredibly jealous of the time you had if i had not had such an amazing weekend of my own. I am so glad you were able to get away - and what a better retreat!

I love the butter dish--I found a similar one at Tai Pan Trading--LOVE It.

Womens Conf was amazing, what I attended of it and I am so glad I went too--a break always makes me feel better.

I love Women's conference, but I didn't have a denim jumper to wear this year (or a faded floral T-shirt to go underneath). Anyways, I have my big race tomorrow and I keep thinking about you on that bike you found before you did your sprint. I love to look at your blog and see your beautiful family. You are so constant and wonderful. I just wanted you to know that in case I don't make it tomorrow.

hey girl, I went to Women's conference too. Dangit girl, you are supposed to tell me when you are around so that I can see you. ESPECIALLY if we are at the same conference. I'm glad you liked it as much as I did. Such a great reminder of how to live our lives as well as a little pat on the back for being mommies. It put me in such a good mood for two days. Reality hit hard upon returning home though. hah haa!

I am glad you and Sheena had such a nice time. It is great to get away for a bit, especially when it is for such a positive and enlightening experience.
Are you all going to Folsom for Jackson's birthday party?
I hope so!
