How to Catch a Leprechaun...

Legend has it that Leprechauns are small, mischievous, messy and sneaky. We decided to try to catch one to see if it's really true:

First, we laid the bait: Goldfish.

Then, we set the trap (very high-tech, I know)

After waiting and waiting...they checked the evidence:
They were happy to see Leprechaun footprints, and a mess in the driveway!
He even left a prize!!

We caught him!!
And we discovered...

the legend really IS true!
(Our little leprechaun is all they say they should be)
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

2 years ago the leprechauns came to visit Dylan's kindergarten class and left a HUGE mess, then later that day another leprechaun came and surprised the kids after they got home from school by hiding a treasure in the mess he left in their bedrooms--Dylan has never been the same. It's ruined his whole life. We had to do parent-son counseling for 2 weeks after that. We had to convince him that the leprechauns were not out to hurt him. St. Patrick's Day around here is a lot different now for us--we kind of just quietly let it go by with no real mention other than a cute shirt to wear.

come to think of it--this must be the reason he is home "sick" from school today--hmmm.

I love it! I am sure the kids were beaming with wonderment. Oh how I wish lucky charms fit into weight watchers!

You are so cute!! They are so lucky to have you as a mom. My poor kids don't know what lucky charms are, I either eat them before they see them, or I can't afford them. Such cute pictures of your boys!!!!

I watched the video Sheena linked. All I can say is that Dylan kid better not go to Mobile Alabama.

You are a fun momma to support the magic. Nice glitter footprints. Your kids will thank you later! You must have so fun every night figuring out how to thrill and excite them next. What holiday is coming up? I promise to do better.

The tooth fairy was supposed to come last night and forgot. Wiley is very disappointed. I had to explain that perhaps the tooth fairy had fallen asleep from such a busy day!
